LAS VEGAS – The coveted AVN Awards celebrated 33 years Jan. 23 at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. An estimated 500 performers strutted the red carpet. The gala ceremony that followed was as full of glitz and glamour as any Academy Awards presentation — admittedly with fewer clothes.

Of note: Tongues wagged about James Deen’s appearance on the prestigious winner’s list — twice — despite sexual assault allegations levelled against him last year. Porn’s former golden boy, known for his ability to leap into mainstream roles and headlines, shared the trophy for Double Penetration Sex Scene with Riley Reid and Erik Everhard for the trio’s turn in Being Riley from Tushy/Jules Jordan. Deen and Everhard also shared the award for Best Group Sex Scene with Keisha Grey, Mick Blue, Jon Jon and John Strong for Gangbang Me 2 from Hard X/O.L. Entertainment.
