MONTREAL – Canada-based sex doll retail brand Sex Doll Queen has reached the one-year milestone of the brand’s sex doll trade-in program, which enables customers to return an existing product to the company in exchange for value credit toward a new model. According to the announcement, the program has now “processed close to 50 units across Canada.”
“The program was designed to address a broader set of challenges in the product lifecycle beyond resale value,” the company explained. “In this category, many customers eventually face a lack of clear options for what to do with products they no longer use. Traditional resale channels are often limited, inconsistent, or unsuitable for private handling, while disposal can also be difficult due to size, material, and discretion concerns. At the same time, environmental considerations have become increasingly relevant for high material products.”
On its website, to highlight the potential challenges (and humiliations) of disposing of used sex dolls, Sex Doll Queen cites an incident in which German police initially thought a discarded sex doll was a murder victim and initiated an investigation.
“This incident seems absurd, but it truly reflects the embarrassing problem faced by many sex doll users: old dolls are large and heavy, and it is not only laborious to discard them casually, but it may also cause misunderstandings and even alarm the police as in the news,” the company noted.
In the announcement of their trade-in program hitting the one-year milestone, Sex Doll Queen said its program “introduces a structured and discreet alternative.”
“Returned products are handled through a controlled internal process, creating a managed pathway for upgrade or retirement rather than relying on informal disposal or secondary markets,” the announcement explained. “This provides users with a clearer lifecycle endpoint while maintaining privacy and operational consistency.”
Over the past year, Sex Doll Queen said their program has “transitioned from an experimental feature into a stable operational flow.”
“Nearly 50 trade-in cases have been completed, covering different models and conditions,” the company reported. “This suggests that users are not only interested in upgrading, but also in resolving end-of-use situations in a more predictable and responsible way.”
The company touted benefits to both customers and the sex doll industry, noting that for customers, “the program reduces friction when moving to newer models, lowers uncertainty around long term ownership, and provides a structured option for handling products that are no longer needed,” adding that it also “reduces reliance on fragmented third party channels, which often lack consistency and privacy safeguards.”
From the industry perspective, “lifecycle-based models such as trade in systems are well established in sectors like electronics and automotive retail, but remain rare in adult products,” Sex Doll Queen observed. “The introduction of a structured program in Canada represents an early step toward more formalized product lifecycle management in this category.”
Sex Doll Queen said the program will “continue to develop as part of its long-term focus on lifecycle services, including product upgrades, customization pathways, and post purchase support.”
