FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Digital payment processing provider Segpay has announced that Tom John has joined the company as its new Chief Technology Officer, saying John will “lead Segpay’s technology team and will oversee the continued development of Segpay’s payment platform as part of the company’s long-term growth plan.”
“Technology has always been the foundation of Segpay’s success,” said Segpay CEO Cathy Beardsley. “Tom brings extensive leadership experience and a proven track record of building and growing organizations. We are excited to welcome him to the team as we continue to enhance the Segpay platform for our merchants.”
According to the announcement, John has over “25 years of experience leading technology organizations in the financial and consulting industries.”
“Most recently, he co-founded AI data analytics company InsitesData, where he served as Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer,” Segpay noted. “Throughout his career, Tom has led a variety of tech companies from software development to cloud transformation. He also created technology strategies for several organizations.”
Segpay said John “earned his bachelor’s and master’s engineering degrees from the University of Florida and will work at Segpay’s South Florida headquarters.”
The company’s new CTO said Segpay “has built a strong reputation for innovation and reliability in payments.”
“I’m excited to join the team and help continue deploying technology that supports our merchants today and well into the future,” John added.
Earlier this month, Segpay announced a strategic partnership with Silverstein Legal to “provide specialized compliance and policy support for its merchant network.”
“Merchants today are navigating increasingly complex legal and payment requirements,” Beardsley noted at the time. “Partnering with Silverstein Legal ensures our clients have access to trusted expertise to meet these constantly changing standards.”
According to the announcement, Silverstein Legal will offer “tailored policy development services to help merchants implement the necessary documentation and safeguards required for banking and payment processing approval.” Under the arrangement, all existing or pending Segpay merchants will receive 10 percent off agreed-upon legal services.
