PATTAYA, Thailand – Mike Stabile of the Free Speech Coalition is this week’s guest on the Adult Site Broker Talk podcast, in what the show said is part one of a two-part interview with the FSC Policy Director, independent journalist and documentary filmmaker.
In addition to his work with FSC, Stabile is also the founder of Polari Media, a media strategies firm serving the adult industry, as well as SWR Data, a market research firm focused on the creator economy.
As noted in the podcast’s announcement Stabile “has been on the frontline of the fight to protect the 1st Amendment rights of those who work in the adult industry.”
“Over the past several years, Mike has become intimately involved with legislators at the state and federal level, working to stop government censorship and promote policies that support the industry,” the announcement added, noting that FSC “has led the fight against poorly designed age-verification bills and is currently working to advance legislation that would keep minors from accessing adult content online.”
“It was great to have Mike back on Adult Site Broker Talk,” said Bruce the adult site broker, host of the podcast and CEO of Adult Site Broker. “In this episode you get a good rundown of the latest in the War on Porn.”
In the interview, Stabile said one of the things that has happened since his last interview with the podcast is “in the past year or so is that other organizations that traditionally would fight alongside (FSC) are sort of dropping out because they are overstretched.”
“They’re fighting so many different battles and so many different fronts where they’re fighting,” Stabile added, noting that organizations like ACLU, FIRE and EFF are contesting actions by the Trump Administration targeting other areas and institutions
“They’ve got the universities, they’ve got social media, they’ve got libraries and things like that,” Stabile said. “I think that they’re busy… we get this thing that I think that Steve Bannon sort of advanced for a long time, which was to ‘flood the zone,’ to really sort of overwhelm people. And I think that in some ways that that’s been effective, right? Nobody can really concentrate and nobody can focus.”
