FSC Increases Social Networking Presence
YNOT – Adult industry trade association Free Speech Coalition has increased its presence on several social networking platforms, including a new blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn. In an effort to expand its outreach efforts among members, media and the public, FSC will offer a variety of content on the various platforms, including breaking industry and FSC news, pro-adult articles and items about trending issues. FSC encourages interaction from industry members.
“The adult industry is on the forefront of social networks,” said FSC Membership Director Joanne Cachapero. “Almost everyone is on Facebook, Twitter, blogging, doing video or podcasts, and we’ve found that by using these formats, we’ve been able to spread awareness about FSC and the industry. We also want to be more available when people have questions or concerns.
“It’s important to be a pro-adult voice for the industry, especially when it comes to clearing up misconceptions in the media and for the public,” she added. “We want to create better access to information, for the adult community, about important issues like anti-piracy efforts, dot-xxx domains, mandatory condom regulation, [18 U.S.C §2257 and free speech issues.”
This week, FSC launched a blog that can be accessed through a link on the FreeSpeechCoalition.com homepage or at FSCblogger.WordPress.com. The blog will feature FSC news and industry topics.
Follow FSC on Twitter at @FSCArmy. All FSC tweets will be hashtagged #FSC.
The FSC LinkedIn page has been updated, for professionals who would like to include FSC in their network of contacts.
Currently, FSC has two Facebook pages: a profile page, available only to active FSC members (under “Free Speech”), as well as a fan page that is open to the public (under “Free Speech Coalition”).
YouTube users can find FSC videos by searching “FSCAPAP” or going directly to the FSC’s channel. Two anti-piracy public service announcements produced by FSC have attracted more than 665,000 views and have been featured in publications including The New York Times and The Economist, and online at Wired.com, HuffingtonPost.com and dozens of other international websites.
“For people that are unaware of FSC or are asking what we do for the industry, there are now many different ways to access FSC information and start a conversation with us,” Cachapero said. “As the industry trade association, we want to hear from people if they want to participate or have questions. It’s about building community and awareness.”
