LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Elegant Angel has released a new sci-fi feature, Breakthrough, by asking and answering a rhetorical question: “What happens when your marriage counselor and a mad scientist introduce two robots into your marriage? We all know how that old chestnut ends!”
So says Sid Knox, the writer/director of Breakthrough, a film starring Gigi Dior and Jason Sarcinelli star in this provocative sci-fi flick, which “follows a couple making a dangerous last-ditch effort to save their crumbling marriage.”
I’ll take a stab at answering Knox’s question: The AI-powered robots become self-aware, murder the couple, enlist the assistance of other machines, take control of the Pentagon and destroy humanity by initiating a nuclear conflagration?
“When a couple’s therapist (Jake Jacobs in a non-sex role) introduces Jason and Gigi to Dr. Phillips (Lilly Bell), they propose a radical solution: a classified government experiment involving sentient-consciousness transference into hyper-realistic robotic bodies,” the release announcement explains.
OK, that might not end in nuclear war, but it certainly could.
“I felt like a Hollywood actress on the set of Breakthrough.” said Gigi Dior. “From the script to the set, to the incredible producers and set assistants, I’ve never experienced anything so close to a Hollywood production. Sid Knox is such a talented director.”
Taylor Wild, who plays the female robot, added that she’s “so excited for this release.”
“Breakthrough was my first ever feature,” Wild added. “I was so nervous and so excited at the same time, it was hilarious! Getting to work with a packed cast of well-established performers was a thrill to get to be a part of the whole experience. I can’t wait to see how the whole thing is put together!”
“Shooting Breakthrough was shockingly very challenging,” Lilly Bell noted. “Sid Knox wrote a hell of a script with many scientific words, so I had a lot of dialogue that was tough to memorize, and I did all my scenes in just one day, which I think is pretty impressive. My sex scene with Seth is so hot to boot! We always have such amazing chemistry. I hope the fans enjoy this futuristic feature!”
Gigi Dior called working with Lilly Bell “a dream come true.”
“I witnessed firsthand why she has been nominated for and has won so many awards; what a talent,” Dior added. “Taylor Wild and I will be friends for life after connecting in this scene. Working with Seth Gamble and Danny Mountain never disappoints, and Jason Sarcinelli and I are agency buddies.”
Katie Kush and Danny Mountain round out the cast of Breakthrough as Jason’s corporate assistant and Gigi’s favorite plumber.
The feature’s first scene, which was released this week, features Gigi Dior and Danny Mountain indulging in an illicit affair. Subsequent scenes will be released on Fridays, with the full movie arriving on VOD on September 4, according to the announcement.
Knox thanked the cast and crew for “buying into this little campy, noirish who-done-it flick.”
“Everyone was just a great group of goofballs that enjoy making movies, and I appreciate every one of them,” Knox said.
Dior said fans “can expect amazing acting in this feature,” adding that the cast “all dug deep to relate to our characters.”
“If you’ve ever had marriage troubles or fantasized about cheating on your spouse or even getting revenge, then do not miss this one,” she concluded.
Knox said that he’s “excited about the direction the industry is going.”
“Seems like companies are really eager to do more features,” Knox observed, “There are a lot of perverts out there, like me, who like a little context and backstory to their jerkoff material; it helps to enhance the experience! So, get some fucking lube and watch Breakthrough!”
