Axel Braun Casting Porn Musical
YNOT – Thank goodness the days of cheesy, bongo-drum based porn music are long gone, but is the world really ready for a porn musical?According to Vivid Entertainment and award-winning director Axel Braun, the answer is “yes.” With his upcoming porn parody Batman XXX now in the final stages of production, Braun already is laying the groundwork for his next big-budget project, Grease XXX, which will take the parody genre into nearly virgin territory.
“Grease XXX is an ambitious project that I have been developing for a couple of years now,” Braun said. “It’s going to be completely different from anything you’ve ever seen in porn. The songs are absolutely incredible, and the dance numbers will be handled by a top Hollywood choreographer. And, of course, there will be plenty of great sex.”
Braun knows great sex, at least on film. The son of legendary porn pioneer Lasse Braun, Axel Braun was raised amid the privileged class in Italy, where sensuality is an art form. Add to that his fluency in five languages, film-school degree and doctorate in psychology, and he combines a wealth of disciplines to tug at viewers’ visceral responses.
Performers say working with Braun is both challenging and rewarding, and he’s about to give a new crop of recruits a chance to find out for themselves. On Monday, he will host open auditions for the main roles in Grease XXX. Part of the challenge, he said, is to find performers who not only are amenable to explicit sexual roles on camera, but also can do their own singing and dancing in the five major choreographed set pieces.
He is unconcerned about finding the right stuff within the adult talent pool.
“I intend to shatter the stereotype that porn people lack real skills,” he said. “Many performers are incredibly talented individuals who have simply chosen to make their living in the adult industry for personal reasons. Grease XXX will give all of them a real opportunity to shine.”
Auditions will begin at 2 p.m. PT Monday at Vivid’s offices, 3599 Cahuenga Blvd. in Los Angeles.
