PATTAYA, Thailand – Leandro Kitamura of ProtegeID is this week’s guest on the Adult Site Broker Talk podcast, the show announced today.
Kitamura is the CEO of eSapiens Tecnologia SA, described in the announcement as “a Venture Builder that invests in, develops, and acquires promising businesses to realize their full potential through technological, strategic, and financial support.”
“An MBA and Project Management Specialist with over 20 years of IT experience, Leandro oversees the development of teams and products through agile methodologies and data-driven approaches, creating strategies and effective solutions for achieving high results,” the announcement added.
ProtegeID is described as “an age verification provider designed to help online platforms comply with Brazil’s new age verification regulations.”
“They combine facial age estimation with liveness detection and automated document verification, using a double-blind architecture where sensitive data is never stored,” the announcement added. “Their focus is high-scale, low-friction compliance for traffic-intensive platforms, especially in the adult and social media industries.”
In the interview, Kitamura said he doesn’t see the Brazilian age verification measure as an attempt to effectively shut down adult businesses through regulation, as some have suggested.
“I don’t believe they’re trying to kill adult businesses,” Kitamura said. “Actually, when everything started in Brazil we supported the creation of an adult association of companies here and that helped us a lot on opening a communication channel with regulators and they really received us and starting discussing with us about how to implement this law in the best way as possible. So, it’s clear to us that they don’t want to kill adult business here in Brazil, they want to find the best solution, including protecting minors.”
