VANCOUVER, Canada – As noted in a recent announcement from Adult Game Fest, “building an adult game without a big budget, a big team or industry connections isn’t easy.” But in a newly announced session at the upcoming virtual event, FluffyStudio founder Fluffy will share how he managed to accomplish that precise feat.
The session led by Fluffy, “Guerrilla Development: Survive, Adapt, Develop,” is slated for Friday, September 25 at 11am PST. The discussion will offer independent developers “a practical look at how to survive and compete in a crowded adult gaming market.”
Described as a player-turned-developer, Fluffy originally hails from Germany and is now based in Malta. Fluffy has been developing adult games for over five years, with five released titles and more than two million downloads to date of his biggest project, Out of Puberty: Reimagined. Beyond his own development work, Fluffy “regularly helps newer developers navigate the industry and avoid the mistakes he made himself,” Adult Game Fest explained.
According to the announcement, Fluffy coined the term “Guerrilla Developing” to describe his approach: “take what is available, adapt it, find an advantage and keep moving.” Fluffy’s session will break down that philosophy into five tactics:
- Use the Enemy’s Weapons — Learn from shared code, adapt it and make it your own.
- Depend on Support — Build community. You can’t do it alone.
- Hit and Run — Use social media consistently to stay visible.
- Political Strategy — Accept that piracy exists and find ways to work with the reality rather than simply fighting it.
- Adapt and Evolve — Policies and platforms change. Be fast, flexible and ready to change with them.
Adult Game Fest added that the session will include “real-world examples from Fluffy’s own experience, including how he adapted to policy changes affecting the discoverability of paid adult games.”
“I hope my session helps even one developer realize they don’t need a big team or a big budget to make something people love,” Fluffy said. “Just determination, consistency, and a guerrilla mindset.”
