‘Absolute Mayhem’ Hits U.S., Canada
YNOT – Monica Mayhem has worn many hats during her decade-long career as an adult entertainer and international sex symbol: award-winning adult film performer, feature dancer, singer, songwriter and author.Until recently, “author” only applied at home in Australia. With the Oct. 1 American and Canadian release of the autobiography Absolute Mayhem: Secret Confessions of a Porn Star, she’ll be able to wear the title in North America, as well.
Chronicling her career in both adult and mainstream entertainment, Absolute Mayhem offers readers an in-depth look at Mayhem’s personal life, her views on the adult industry and the inspiration behind her music.
“I wanted to give people a chance to see the real person behind the porn-star persona and give an honest insight into the adult industry,” she said. “The book has had nothing but rave reviews since its Australian release last October, and I’m very proud of the results.”
The book already is available through Amazon.com and other online retail outlets. Beginning Friday, it may be purchased in brick-and-mortar bookstores including Barnes & Noble, Borders and Books-a-Million. An electronic version is available for Kindle.
Mayhem recently retired from the adult entertainment industry and returned to her native Australia, where she will be married in October. As if in tribute, she appeared on the Sept. 27 cover of People magazine’s Australian issue. Inside is an eight-page layout featuring an in-depth interview about her life and career.
