LOS ANGELES, Calif. – TGirls.xxx has announced the release of “’Pop the Balloon: Trans Edition,” which the studio described as “a playful nod to the viral dating game show trend.” The new release was directed by Grooby producer Bakari and stars Yakira King and King Noire.
“I’ve been watching ‘Pop the Balloon’ videos on social media for years and always wondered why nobody ever did a trans version,” Bakari said. “Our community has so many interesting voices and perspectives that it naturally sets up a completely different experience.
“When we started crafting this, we thought about how the game is supposed to be funny and entertaining—but it’s also a social experiment,” Bakari added. “It exposes the messy, inconvenient truths about how we date. And as someone who’s navigated dating trans women in NYC—one of the hardest dating cities in the world—I felt like this was the perfect chance to pull the curtain back and show what dating really looks like for trans women and the men who are attracted to them.”
Grooby chief Steven Grooby confessed he “actually had no idea what our NYC producer Bakari was talking about when he asked to do a ‘Pop The Balloon’ theme,” but he was “happy to let him run with it.”
“The finished result (and I do understand it now) is great,” Grooby added, “ it’s a lot of fun and then leads into a very hot scene with King Noire and the surprise last girl standing in the lineup.”
Bakari noted that nothing in the scene was “scripted or planned.”
“All the ‘actors’ are my real friends,” Bakari said. “This is literally what it’s like when we all hang out. Even the host, my girl Nekia, got zero notes and was told to just wing it. In the end, I think we made something authentic, entertaining, goofy, and way bigger than the sum of its parts. And maybe—just maybe—it’ll help people who watch our porn see a more dynamic, interesting, human side of these girls.”
