Wantmi, a new short-form adult video platform, announced its launch today, noting that the layout of the platform will look familiar to users, as a “vertical, swipeable feed of short clips.”
The company says the platform is distinguished by virtue of being “built around something none of its predecessors ever cracked: a recommendation algorithm that actually learns what each viewer wants.”
In the launch announcement, Wantmi noted that building a ‘TikTok for porn’ is not a new idea, adding that previous adult platforms that tried to copy TikTok “shipped without the thing that made TikTok a phenomenon in the first place: the algorithm.”
“Wantmi was built the other way around: algorithm first,” the company said, describing a “vision-language model” that “watches every clip and builds a machine-readable understanding of what’s actually in it.”
According to the announcement, the Wantmi feed “represents both content and taste as points in a high-dimensional embedding space and ranks what to show next based on genuine similarity to what a viewer responds to, not crude tags or keyword matches.” It also “optimizes for satisfaction rather than raw watch time, and deliberately explores new tastes instead of trapping viewers in a single loop.”
“Every app in this space copied TikTok’s interface and forgot what actually made TikTok work,” said the anonymous founder of Wantmi. “The swipe was never the hard part. The algorithm is. We spent six months building the recommendation engine and refused to launch until it worked.”
The announcement also explained that “Wantmi takes a hard stance on where its content comes from.”
“You cannot upload to Wantmi,” the company said. “Every clip is recorded inside the app: no file uploads, no imports, no pre-recorded content. Clips run 30 seconds maximum, 15 suggested.”
“In an internet drowning in AI-generated content, the fact that every clip on Wantmi was recorded by a real person is the entire point,” the anonymous founder said. “Record-only protects creators from having their work stolen or cloned, and it guarantees viewers something that’s getting rare: what you’re watching is real.”
The announcement explained that for creators, Wantmi is “a distribution engine, not another platform to manage.”
“The model is simple: viewers discover creators in the feed, follow them, and click through to wherever the creator already monetizes, whether OnlyFans, Fansly, or elsewhere,” the announcement explained, adding that Wantmi “runs ads to cover the cost of its content-analysis and serving pipeline, and plans to share ad revenue with creators. Its early library comes from direct partnerships with creators, and it’s growing.”
Wantmi is live now at wantmi.com as “a progressive web app,” the announcement said, adding that it “runs in the browser on iOS and Android with no app-store gatekeeper.”
“There’s a lot left to build,” the platform’s founder conceded. “But the hard part, an algorithm that understands what people actually want, is working. Everything else compounds from there.”
