CYBERSPACE — Greg Shearer has a reputation for being a man of outspoken principles. A Free Speech Coalition board member and former police officer, the man known as “Spanky” within the industry has come aboard White Tiger as its sales manager – and has already started making refining company policy.Marketing director Kurt Harold said in a company statement that White Tiger is delighted to see Spanky join White Tiger because he “brings us the finishing touches to a promising young company.” With Spanky on the job, Harold expects to be able to focus his attention on working directly with the various studios and niches associated with White Tiger.
Company owner Lynton Appleson echoes Harold, adding that Shearer “brings over a decade of sales leadership and his acute knowledge of wholesale marketing as it relates to the retailer and end user will be invaluable.”
At Spanky’s urging, and as an example of what Harold calls his “responsible input” into the company’s mission statement, White Tiger has agreed to launch a policy of STD testing and disclosure policy similar to that used in heterosexual porn for talent involved with bareback productions. “Although the ‘bareback genre is extremely popular right now, we must be responsible about it!” Harold stated.
As Shearer explains, “We have decided that we will not represent studios that do not use testing criteria, regardless of the significance of branding. Bareback looks as if it’s here to stay, but we want to align ourselves with responsible producers such as Matt Woods from Firepower, who, like other respected colleagues, begins film preparation by responsible testing and disclosure prior to engaging models in adult content.”
Shearer has worked as managing agent for Male Media One during the past decade. The company released more than 800 titles while he worked there; something he credits with having giving him the experience needed to take on his White Tiger duties.
With both Spanky and Harold working for White Tiger, Appleson foresees great things.
