AVS Site or Member Site?
What do you think, is it good to start with an AVS site, or should I make a pay site?
If you’re just getting started building porn sites, then I recommend that you start with a simple AVS (Age Verification System) site or two or three to get your feet wet. AVS sites are extremely easy to build, and you won’t have to worry about setting up a third party billing system — the AVS company will bill surfers who want access to your site and send you the commissions. Plus, surfers who visit AVS sites generally have lower expectations in terms of site design, image quality and the quantity of content offered. The great thing about AVS sites is you can throw them up and basically forget about them; rather than updating the site constantly with new content on a regular basis, you can simply move on to a new AVS site and build yourself a little online empire.
However, if you plan on staying in the online porn business for very long then you’ll eventually want to build a pay site. Why? Quite simply because there’s more money to be made in pay sites if you do them correctly. Successful pay sites can build a large membership base that produces significant monthly recurring revenues.
So always start with simple AVS sites, but plan on building a pay site when you feel you have the hang of building and marketing AVS sites.
