The price for the license is $4,750, which includes initial installation and full access to modifying the source code. The normal source code license cost is $47,500, so these limited-availability licenses are available at a 90% discount.
“Any company running an affiliate program desiring to fully own and operate, on all levels, its own affiliate software now has the chance,” Mansion owner/founder Oystein Wright wrote in a statement announcing availability of the five licenses. “Mansion Productions will for a limited time sell the full source code version of MPA3, and as such leaving the buyers will 100% control over the software for infinity.”
Wright added that the deal represents a “one-time purchase” with “no subsequent fees ever to be collected for the software.”
Under the terms of the purchase agreement, once a license has been approved, a Mansion technician performs the basic install of MPA3 on a dedicated server of the purchaser’s choice, and one paysite will be set up free of charge, for a limited time following the purchase.
The key to the source code is then handed over to the purchaser, who also receives a month of general support, after which the purchaser assumes complete control of the software. Mansion added that “customizations to the software may be ordered, for a fee, within the first month of usage, or prior to software potentially being modified by client.”
The source code license purchase is subject to a few limitations. Rebranding and reselling of the software is prohibited, source code support is limited to 60 days after installation, or until the source code has been modified by the purchaser (whichever comes first) and releasing the source code publicly is not permitted.
Purchasers will receive MPA3 v5, which Mansion said “completely reinvents the way program owners and affiliates work on a day-to-day basis.”
“With its intuitive interface, graphical charts for any type of statistics, and sleek navigation, we have created the ultimate software for any serious affiliate program and its affiliates,” the company added, noting that “18 years of market experience is put into version 5 of MPA3, and as such program owners can feel confident when they purchase the source code, which is very well written, intuitive, and ready for additional modifications by client’s own developers.”
“We believe, after talking to numerous program owners, that having full control of your own source code is extremely important, and not being bound by limitations often given by licensor of software will give the owner a great sense of security,” Wright said. “Another major perk is the price. Having to pay monthly recurring license fees can often be a deterrent when choosing a software. With this one-time license fee, which includes the rights to modifying the source code, company owners take back control of their operations and recurring costs.”
