BROOMFIELD, Colo. – In an industry often (and possibly unfairly) associated with brief careers and short tenures at any given company, Eldorado Trading Company has announced that it is celebrating Laurie Fehler’s 45th employment anniversary at the company – a remarkable stretch to serve at a single company, regardless of the sector that company inhabits.
In the announcement, Eldorado noted that Fehler, a Colorado native, first joined the adult toy, novelty and lingerie distributor in May, 1978.
“As one of the first 18 Eldorado employees in the original Boulder location, she was hired as a receptionist and invoicing clerk, though she has worn many hats over many years,” the company explained. “Throughout her tenure, she has helped with all administrative office functions, bookkeeping, Information Technologies, and Human Resources. On occasion, she has even assisted the warehouse. Fehler has worked as Eldorado’s Human Resource Manager for the last nine years.”
Wanda Garland, CEO of Eldorado, fondly recalls those early years at the company.
“I’ve known Laurie since my twenties,” Garland said. “Laurie’s commitment to do whatever is required to get the job done has been integral to Eldorado’s success over the years. She has navigated Eldorado’s growth and industry changes. Her loyalty and steadfastness to Eldorado has been much appreciated and has been a great asset.”
While Fehler said she does look forward to retirement “someday”, she also believes there is much left for her to accomplish before that time comes.
“My time with Eldorado has provided tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth,” Fehler said. “It’s been an incredible journey, with both triumphs and challenges, and lots of amusing stories. I appreciate all the good people I’ve had the chance to meet at Eldorado and within the industry. I look forward to what the future holds.”
In the announcement, Eldorado added that the company celebrated Fehler’s anniversary with a commemorative plaque and cupcakes for the entire Eldorado team. She continues to work at the company’s headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado.
