At just 22, Olivier Domengie, the new chief running bull at TOTEMCASH is already quickly becoming a veteran affiliation manager. Four years ago, while he was still at high school, OD, as he’s known at Totem, ran his own soccer website which became an overnight success, reaching the number 2 spot for soccer sites in France. After that he was head of affiliations at one of the biggest e-commerce sites, again, in France. AVN Online took some time out last week to talk with the young vet about his approach to maximizing the ‘Win-Win’ relationship between TOTEMCASH and its members, how they ain’t like the rest, and why over 10,000 webmasters can’t be wrong!
AVN: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us today OD. Why, in your opinion, has TOTEMCASH been so successful since its launch in Fall 2001?
OD: There are two main reasons why TOTEMCASH works so well. The first is our innovative products: Virtuagirl, Stripsaver and soon SexyAgent. We are the first company in the world to have developed the technology behind these products and as a consequence, we have no competitors, a situation I’m sure any company would like to be in. But having new technology and great products will only bring you so far, for a product to really work on the net you have to share the wealth, make it worth the while for your clients and partners to advertise your products on their sites.
Which brings me to reason number two: we respect our Webmasters. I tell them, “listen, what we’re giving you is a trustworthy, extremely well-paid partnership. You get strong brand names of unique, interactive products that won’t jeopardize other money-making deals that already work on your site(s)”. They can’t loose, they turn wasted space into gold and they convert traffic that they would never had converted before. If you take all that and add mega high retention ratios thanks to continuous renewal of our site content, you got one hell of a good deal going on. But we gotta keep spreading the good news. Not enough people know about TOTEMCASH and its awesome rebilling capabilities. We’re like the Viagra of cash portals, you’re performance will double in days!
AVN : What is the most important thing for you to remember, as an affiliation manager, when you’re redesigning a Revshare cash portal?
OD: Well, first of all, there’s something that a lot of affiliators don’t get in this business, or just haven’t realized yet: your clients, the Webmasters of the online adult world, are the most important people out there. Without them we wouldn’t even be here talking today. What we offer here at TOTEMCASH is probably the highest money making partnership a Webmaster will ever see. People are wary of getting ripped off, which is normal, but you have to believe me that there are no hidden scams, no small print behind our Revshare programs. AVN: What are you doing today to build on that success and what advice would you give other affiliation managers who are trying to make a few bucks?
OD: In keeping with our innovative image, TOTEMCASH.COM is today undergoing a facelift. We have three main aims for the new site. Firstly, it will be user-friendlier, that means a simplification of the general layout, which will make navigation and information searching for users faster and easier. Secondly, we want to make it more appealing to future members, to clearly show the advantages of a partnership with TOTEMCASH. Finally, and probably most importantly, the site will contain a lot of new features for existing and new members. Our powerful statistics interface means that Webmasters will be able to manage all of their accounts much more easily. We’re also going to extend our 50/50 Revshare program to sales from exit consoles and not just from main site banners. There will be more newsletters, shorter response times and Bonus days where members can double or triple their revenues by subscribing a fellow Webmaster. Its all about building a better relationship with our clients, and we all know that online customer service strategy is twice as important as you’ll probably never get to meet all of your partners face to face. The message has to be stronger and the service better to fill that space.
AVN: Sounds like you’ve got a lot of great, new, interesting plans to put in place, so I won’t delay you any longer. Any final thoughts for our readers?
OD: When people see the word ‘Revshare’, they don’t realize the relevance and possibilities that lie in its meaning. TOTEMCASH shares its revenues with its clients, 50/50, it nearly sounds too good to be true but its because of them that we exist, so its kind of normal. Affiliate program managers should always try to keep that in mind.
