MELBOURNE, Australia – At the 22nd annual Australian Adult Industry Awards (AAIA ) in Sydney last week, GirlsOutWest captured its second consecutive award for “Best Porn Production Company” – which the company says came as something of a surprise.
“Amidst the many categories, GirlsOutWest was honored to be among the finalists nominated for ‘Best Porn Production Company’ again but was surprised by the win due to the considerable amount of amazing competition that the company was up against,” GirlsOutWest said in a statement celebrating its receipt of the award.
The AAIA honor the best of the Australian adult industry, covering “companies and individuals from exotic dancers, strip clubs, adult film performers and production companies, to retail, escorts and everything in between,” as GirlsOutWest noted in their announcement. The black-tie affair was held at the Sydney Hyatt Regency.
In their announcement, GirlsOutWest said it “goes without saying that the entire team are thrilled that their continued efforts to produce quality content have been acknowledged.”
“These past few years have been filled with trail and tribulations for many of us in the adult industry here in Australia and as we’ve maneuvered and forged through some of the most difficult times in our business, thankfully with the continued support of my staff and the amazing talent that we’ve been privileged to work with, we’ve come out on the other side, stronger than ever, and for that I am forever grateful beyond words,” said Annie, Founder and CEO of GirlsOutWest.
The award was accepted on behalf of the company by starlet Charlie Forde, who has been regularly featured on GirlsOutWest.com – and captured an AAIA trophy of her own for “Best Porn Actress.” Forde will take the Best Porn Production Company trophy back to Melbourne, where it will be showcased in the GirlsOutWest headquarters.
In their announcement, GirlsOutWest noted that “AAIA has established legitimacy and mainstream acceptance of the industry and its participants and was founded, owned, and operated by industry legend, sex expert, and serial entrepreneur Maxine Fensom since its conception.”
