SAN FRANCISCO – GameLink has optimized its virtual-reality site for Google’s new Daydream View headset.
The $79 Daydream View represents Google’s entry into the mid-range VR market. The company’s previous product, Google Cardboard, remains available, and at $15 is an affordable entry-level product.
According to GameLink marketing materials, Daydream View “gives users an immersive VR experience that brings them right to the action and up-close-and-personal with performers.” Made of durable, lightweight plastic and fabric, the headset features a small, built-in motion controller that allows users to move virtual objects while a tiny chip allows the headset to detect and activate the “on” switch for the appropriate mobile phone operating system. (Google undoubtedly hopes the OS will be Android, which Google owns.)
“We’re very pleased to optimize our content and the user experience on GameLink for the Google Daydream View and give our users a state-of-the-art, realistic and completely immersive VR experience,” said Jeff Dillon, vice president of business development and marketing for GameLink parent company eLine. “With the Daydream View, adult fans will be able to dive right into the action with their favorite stars and directors, with a breathtaking panoramic 360-degree view around them.”
GameLink’s VR aggregate site, GameLink.com, offer a variety of adult content. The site has been the subject of media buzz since its launch this summer. VentureBeat.com noted, “Virtual reality and porn have proven once again that technology and sex go hand-in-hand.” Bohemian.com said, “Though GameLink just started offering VR content in mid-July, the investment has already started to pay off… Right now, VR videos produced by adult entertainment studio BaDoinkVR are among [GameLink’s] top sellers.”
GameLink.com provides users the ability to view immersive VR experiences via video-on-demand or streaming. The site offers VR content ranging from girl-girl and boy-girl to MILF, teens, fetish and BDSM from studios including BaDoink, Kink.com and Halo Girls. Titles include Ariel X / Bella Nova, the four-way sexfest Girlfriend Swap, and the teen-themed videos Music Festival Babe and After School Special.
