The spinning star effect is used to grab the viewer’s attention and is very quick to create and simple to do.

1. Open up Photoshop.
2. Create a new canvas (150×100 pixel).
3. Using the Paint Bucket Tool , fill the canvas with a BLACK color.
4. Create a NEW LAYER. Using the CUSTOM SHAPE TOOL , draw a STAR in the centre of the canvas, making sure the color RED is selected in the FOREGROUND COLOR.
5. Go to the LAYERS PALETTE and select the LAYER which has the STAR that you have just created. DRAG that layer into the NEW LAYER icon to duplicate the layer.
6. Select the bottom LAYER and go to MENU EDIT > FREE TRANSFORM. This is what the canvas should look like:
Direct the mouse to any corner of the selection and rotate the image by a few degrees.
7. Repeat STEPS 5 and 6 until you get about 4 to 5 frames but REMEMBER to rotate each LAYER EVENLY so that the animation will look smooth.
This is what your canvas should look like if you have done all the layers correctly:
NOTE: I have added a TEXT LAYER on top of the star(s). This Gives the animation a more professional look.
8. Now you must SAVE each LAYER (STAR) one at a time as a GIF file showing only one VISIBLE STAR at a time, and HIDING the other un-used LAYERS.

EACH STAR is rotated only a few degrees to give it a spinning motion.
NOW YOU ARE READY FOR PART 2: USING GIF ANIMATOR
Now we will be importing all the saved GIF files into Gif Animator and creating the animation.
1. Open up Gif Animator.
2. Select FILE > OPEN GIF and import all the images into Gif Anitmator.
3. Once files and images have been imported in Gif Animator then we need to set the TIMING correctly to get the best effect from this technique.
From personal experience, I set my TIMING to 8 seconds (1/100th of a second) for all frames. Since it gives me the best and smoothest spin.
4. Finally when the TIME DELAY is all set correctly, SAVE the file and the finished version should look like this:
