This September in Prague will mark the 8th successful year of the YNOT Awards, the event that finally put the right focus on the adult companies and professionals that make up the online adult entertainment industry. But there is also a new show from YNOT in 2018, as the YNOT Cam Awards will debut in Hollywood, California on October 24th.
Although these two events are very different, they happen just over a month apart. That means there’s room for some confusion, so let’s break down each event and what makes them different from each other.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE YNOT AWARDS AND THE YNOT CAM AWARDS?
First, the YNOT Awards is targeted primarily at companies and business professionals who work online. It recognizes the companies that produce great online adult content, as well as the individuals who make those companies successful. The YNOT Awards also recognize the services that help adult companies succeed, such as billing companies and software services friendly to our industry. This night in Prague is all about recognizing these businesses and business people for their excellence.
The YNOT Cam Awards, on the other hand, is laser-focused on the adult performers who work in interactive adult entertainment. That’s primarily webcams, but it also recognizs the performers who produce custom clips in collaboration with their fans. This is a night for celebrating the women and the men who perform on cam, the lifeblood of our industry. It’s also a night to shine a light on the positive changes to our industry that have been driven by interactive online technologies like webcams.
HOW DOES VOTING WORK FOR EACH EVENT?
The YNOT Awards in Prague allows voting only from industry professionals. Voters must sign up for a YNOT ID account, then submit details about themselves to validate their industry participation. Each account is manually approved for voting by YNOT staff. This event is a chance for the industry to recognize its own.
With the YNOT Cam Awards, both nominations and voting are open to fans as well as industry. The details for voting have not yet been released for YNOT Cam Awards, but fans will be allowed to support their favorite performers by voting.
CAN FANS ATTEND EITHER EVENT?
Both events will be industry-only for live attendance. However with the YNOT Cam Awards in Hollywood, fans will have the opportunity to watch the event live via Web stream. The event in Prague will not be streamed.
WAIT, DOESN’T THE YNOT AWARDS ALSO RECOGNIZE MODELS?
The YNOT Awards does have a few categories that recognize performers. This event is in its 8th year, where the YNOT Cam Awards is brand new. The YNOT Awards added a few model categories years ago as a means for the industry to recognize some of its hardworking performers. So while there are indeed categories in Prague that will recognize performers, the final votes will be coming from industry professionals only, and not fans.
