[/INDENT]“To maximize their impact and prestige, YNOT Awards are limited to just 20 categories,” said Connor Young, president of YNOT Group LLC. “The categories selected were suggested by individual jurors and then submitted to the entire panel for feedback. The chosen categories are those that received the most support.
“It’s always difficult when you have to limit categories, because that means you have to make tough cuts and someone’s good suggestion will be left out,” he added. “But we were dead-set on limiting the number of categories to just 20. When you have awards shows where the entire industry is nominated, we feel that really degrades the value of the nomination.”
The process now moves to the next phase, during which jurors will select the nominees for each category. Young said he expects to announce the slate of nominees next week.
“At that point, everyone in the industry will be invited to vote for their favorites,” he said. “Campaigning is expected and encouraged.”
Winners will be announced Sept. 21, during a gala celebration at SaSaZu nightclub, one of the most impressive entertainment venues in Prague. The event will be part of the EuropeanSummit, slated to occur Sept. 20-23 in Prague.
