CYPRESS, Calif. — Global Electronic Technology Inc., corporate parent of internet payment services provider OrbitalPay LLC, has named Xavier Ayala executive vice president of business development. Ayala will lead the company’s U.S. marketing initiatives in the financial-services sphere.

Ayala, who joined GET in June, possesses more than 16 years of payment-processing experience, most recently as vice president for U.S. sales at Moneris Solutions Inc., the sixth-largest global merchant acquirer. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade with Humboldt Merchant Services LLP, ultimately rising to the position of vice president for U.S. sales and marketing.

“Mr. Ayala is among the most respected leaders in the electronic payments industry, with diverse experience within bank-owned organizations and high-level roles in the bankcard industry,” said GET founder and Chief Executive Officer Steven H. Bryson. “He knows how to build and grow customer-focused sales teams. His broad based operations and marketing experience will help guide us as we invest in a strategy to reach new customers and introduce new scalable, intuitive, data rich, cloud-based commerce solutions to the marketplace.”

Ayala holds a Bachelor of Sciene degree in business management from Humboldt State University. He currently serves as vice president of the Western States Acquirers Association and is a former instructor for the Electronic Transactions Association, a member of the ISO & Agent Advisory Board, and a supporter of various local charitable organizations.

“I’m excited to apply my experience to help grow GET’s partner distribution network and introduce new world-class commerce solutions to our merchants and sales partners,” he said.

OrbitalPay specializes in providing merchant accounts and billing services to companies judged “high-risk” by the payment industry.
