CALABASAS, Calif. – Capitalizing on the popularity of reality TV, adult cam-site operator Video Secrets has initiated the World’s Top Model Contest. During the contest period, which ends Dec. 12, fans, affiliates and live-cam performers will engage in an epic battle to claim the rose, remain on the island, retain their spot in the house or otherwise prove they have what it takes to become the next reality superstar and claim their share of $12,000 in prizes.The contest began Sept. 21 with a preliminary round that lasts until Oct. 4. During this phase, fans will select the top 20 male and 20 female webcam models from the thousands who perform on Video Secrets’ online network. Voting is accomplished by paying for cam time with a model. According to a spokesman, the standings are updated every 15 minutes, and the competition among models is fierce.

Each week, the bottom three male and female performers are eliminated, just as the underperformers are on reality TV shows. Fans are the key to performers’ continued survival, Estes noted.

The competition is expected to close with a Dec. 12 finale that will pit the remaining few performers against each other in a do-or-die grudge match.
