Award-winning all-American curvy beauty, Penthouse Pet, and activist Mary Moody has been on a mission to help sex workers get their incomes back from Pornhub and credit card companies like Visa and Mastercard back on board. Now, Vice’s Motherboard is looking into the dangers of the Pornhub crusade and hate speech, and the potential for vigilantism and Pornhub employees, sex workers, and others potentially losing their lives. Mary Moody was asked to weigh in on this informative yet scary topic.
Motherboard’s “The Crusade Against Pornhub Is Going to Get Someone Killed” by Samantha Cole educates readers on extremist Christian/neo-Nazi group on the far-right social media platform Gab, which wants to “bring porn stars to justice” and refers to Pornhub as a “cartel” and their employees should be “sentenced to death.” The group also rallies behind Exodus Cry, Laila Mickelwait, and their hashtag #Traffickinghub. The Vice piece also outs the scary imagery of people posing in skull masks, holding rifles, and wearing Traffickinghub t-shirts, swastikas and other hateful imagery, and women holding baseball bats and wearing Traffickinghub t-shirts patrolling the streets of LA. Fortunately, the Pornhub security team is monitoring activity and keeping employees safe.
Mary, who’s a founding board member at the Adult Industry Laborers & Artists Association (AILAA), weighs in on Exodus Cry and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) making sex workers fear for their lives and potentially worse consequences, as well as these groups revealing sex workers’ identities and locations.
“I think a lot of people have no idea how bad this crusade has become—it’s always my goal to protect sex workers, as well as their incomes. This article is a hard look at the harsh reality sex workers, and Pornhub employees face and fear. I’m glad Samantha Cole wrote this piece to educate the public at large about these dangers, which seem to be getting progressively worse,” says Mary Moody.
