YNOT – It’s not uncommon for porn fans to be gamers, and vice-versa. The moment Sony’s PlayStation 3, Microsoft’s Xbox and other hardware hit the shelves, enterprising consumers began seeking ways to “expand the capabilities” of the gaming platforms.
Although none of the manufacturers endorses the use of its equipment for XXX-rated pursuits, all of them turn a blind eye to the goings-on in homes around the world. After all, the more uses people can find for a particular device, the more sales the manufacturer will enjoy.
Xbox 360 has become a particularly popular way to connect with porn. A number of online video-on-demand purveyors offer streaming via Xbox. SugarDVD recently joined the crowd with an unlimited streaming service priced at $7.95 per month. The company believes its platform, which requires no app download or software installation, is the first of its kind to stream full-length, high-definition adult movies direct to a viewer’s television through Microsoft’s popular game console.
“Since we came out with our PlayStation 3 app, people have bombarded us with requests for an Xbox app,” said SugarDVD spokeswoman Rebecca Bolen. “Now Xbox gamers can stop asking when their turn will come and start watching.”
The company also offers streaming via set-top boxes Roku and Boxee, in addition to mobile devices powered by Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.
The associated affiliate program, SugarCash, pays a 20-percent recurring revenue share.
