To help online pleasure products retailers prepare to make the most of their sales, Pipedream Products — one of the companies in the Diamond Products portfolio, which also includes Sir Richard’s and Jimmyjane — offered promotional suggestions to attract shoppers to your website and convert them into buyers.

Get punny: Create a fun, sexy pun like “Happy Spanksgiving,” then correlate a sale to back up the holiday play on words. Try something like “Get 50% off all BDSM items by using code ‘GIVESPANKS’ at checkout.”

Website treasure hunt: Let visitors know there’s treasure buried somewhere on your site. All they must do is find it to claim freebies or special discounts. “This will get customers excited and encourage them to thoroughly explore your site,” a Pipedream marketing representative said.

Virtual scratchers: Virtual scratch-off tickets create an element of surprise. Email them to your list, urging consumers to come to your site to collect their winnings, which can be freebies, discounts, gift cards or anything else you’d like to offer. Get creative!

BOGO: Give customers a great buy by offering buy-one-get-one deals. The second item may be free or at a reduced price (50-percent off is popular). “BOGOs are a great way to clear slow-moving inventory,” a Pipedream spokesperson suggested.
