Legendary adult performer Tommy Gunn recently sat down with Sherman from EmmReport for an in-depth interview about the new documentary Fans Only: The Human Side of Porn. The hour-and-seventeen-minute conversation, now available on the EmmReport YouTube channel, dives into the making of the documentary, its vision, and the inspiring, human-centered approach that sets it apart.
During the interview, Tommy Gunn explored the origins of the film, recounting his initial meeting in 2024 with accomplished director Joel Van der Molen at the AVN Convention in Las Vegas. Director Joel Van der Molen, known for his award-winning works such as Gypsy Billionaire, leveraged his expertise to tackle the complex narratives surrounding the industry. Garnering praise for his ability to inspire openness in his subjects, Van der Molen expertly balanced the documentary’s tone to ensure it remains authentic. Fans Only has quickly gained recognition, reaching #11 and hovering in the TOP 20 on Amazon Prime. There are plans to expand availability of the film to platforms such as Apple TV and YouTube TV by late summer/early fall of 2025.

Reflecting on the documentary and his career, Gunn discussed the evolution of the industry.
