CHATSWORTH, Calif. — As the projected release date for Tommie Gunn’s 3D choose-your-own-adventure porn opus nears, the interactive DVD is beginning to get some traction in the mainstream. Hipster websites including Examiner.com and CreativeLoafing.com recently ran advance announcements for Tommie Gunn’s Cummin’ at You, due to hit the streets Sept. 29, distributed by Pure Play Media.Billed as “the most interactive point-of-view movie ever made,” the title stars Gunn, squirter Sindee Jennings, Tony DeSergio and Riley Evans in a menu-selectable “stereoscopic 3D adventure” that lets viewers experience the action from either Gunn’s or Jennings’ POV. Reportedly, the design is such that more than 50,000 scenarios are possible. An “adventure randomizer” option sets the movie to make all the choices on its own, although according to Pure Play the scenes change each time the feature plays in “randomizer” mode.
“We’re very excited to be involved with such a unique and cutting-edge film,” Pure Play Chief Executive Officer Richard Arnold said. “When Tommy Gunn and his silent partners approached me about 3D porn, I told them it’s been done before. Then I was given a glimpse of the 3D imagery and ‘choose-your-adventure’ format, and I was hooked. This truly has never been done before. It offers fans an interactive experience like no other.”
Although 3D glasses are included with the DVD, Arnold said the next-generation of home theater systems will make accessory ocular devices unnecessary. For now, Cummin’ at You is designed to play on standard and high-resolution televisions with traditional, projection, LCD or plasma screens.
“I’m tremendously excited about Cummin’ at You,” Gunn said. “This DVD allows the viewer the opportunity to literally be involved, not to mention feel like they’re in the action. This film has so many possibilities. Never before has the viewer been given full say in their porn fantasy, let alone thousands of possible alternate experiences in the same movie.”
