Thursday is Last Chance to Comment about Dot-xxx
YNOT – Adult industry trade association Free Speech Coalition has issued a final call for all adult business with interests in cyberspace to submit their comments opposing the proposed dot-xxx sponsored Top-Level Domain. The public comment period ends Thursday.Submissions may be emailed directly to the Internet Corporation for Domain Names and Numbers.
In addition, FSC requests industry stakeholders complete a brief online survey, the results of which will be compiled and submitted to ICANN along with FSC’s official opposition to the adult-content-specific domain.
“Dot-xxx is a situation where together we stand,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke said. “Online business owners who are against dot-xxx must post comments by the end of the day in order for their voices to be heard. FSC has spearheaded the opposition to this supposed ‘sponsored’ domain because webmasters have told us that they don’t want it. But we need as many stakeholders as possible to tell ICANN how they feel.
“Dot-xxx would end up costing webmasters millions in unnecessary fees if passed, and also make it easier for the wrong people to target adult material online, including children and anti-adult activists,” Duke added.
