LOS ANGELES – It’s tough to make a living in the scandal business these days. Just ask Jasmine Tridevil, the now-notorious Florida woman who is either a freak or a fraud, depending upon whom one believes.
According to Tridevil—who reportedly admits on one of her websites that she takes a great deal of pride in perpetrating internet hoaxes—she had a third breast constructed between her original equipment in a bid to gain notoriety and her own television show. According to doctors, the procedure is highly unlikely, since it violates every ethical canon known to the medical profession. According to a police inventory report filed after her stolen luggage was recovered, the third breast is a prosthesis.
Considering the adult entertainment industry’s propensity for using any scandal as a promotional gimmick, one might expect porn-video offers to fly at Tridevil from all directions, but so far she has received only one—and a paltry one, at that.
According to a press release circulated mid-media-frenzy, Porn5.com “was quick to take action” with “a standing offer of $20,000 for Tridevil to show her stuff in a hardcore, feature-length video.”
Seriously? $20,000? That’s embarrassing.
It’s also the exact amount Tridevil, 21, claims to have spent on her alleged surgery. She has declined to name her surgeon because what she characterized as a non-disclosure agreement prevents revelation of the medico’s identity in an effort to protect the surgeon’s medical license. However, Tridevil said, a film crew documented the procedure.
It’s good to know everyone is taking the identity-protection guarantee seriously.
“I plan to release [the footage] on my reality TV show, and I don’t really care what people think or say about me,” Tridevil told British tabloid The Sun. “I know what I have done. As I say, this is not a fake or a hoax.”
That may be true, but Tridevil’s history doesn’t lend much credence to her statement. She has had at least two run-ins with law enforcement: one after she used a forged ID, and another when she made a deal with a man who allegedly assaulted her. In the latter case, Tridevil—who in real life appears to be Tampa, Fla., resident Alisha Jasmine Hessler—forced the alleged attacker to stand on a street corner wearing a dunce cap and holding a humiliating sign in exchange for not reporting the alleged crime to police.
Tridevil also is prone to fantasy, judging by her claim that both Inside Edition and Jimmy Kimmel Live planned to feature interviews with her. Both shows denied any such plans when contacted by Mashable.
Yet Porn5.com soldiers on in its pursuit of the Amazing Three-Breasted Woman.
“We understand that a pretty girl with three big breasts is destined to be contacted by a number of media offers, so we put three times the effort into getting in touch with Jasmine before anyone else,” Porn5 representative Tim K. said.
According to Tim K., the studio is incensed by the skepticism heaped on Tridevil by the media, Facebook users and Twitter denizens.
“Frankly, we find these sorts of media characterizations to be patently offensive,” Tim K. said. “We question the judgment of some mainstream media sources presuming to know what is or is not a dignified expression of human sexuality. These same sorts of barbs were once aimed at people making decisions about their transgender identity, and thankfully the world has finally woken up to the fact that there are more than two possible genders that deserve to be treated with respect.
“Our offer to Ms. Tridevil certainly aims to demonstrate the popularity of her three-breasted approach to her personal appearance, while it also is intended to bolster the rights of free spirits everywhere who may not fit into the tight constraints others try to cast on what is considered ‘dignified’ or ‘normal,’” he continued, adding the studio considers the offer “lucrative.”
Whether or not Tridevil’s claims are legitimate, surely she’s had her 15 minutes of infamy by now…and so has Porn5. Either up the ante, guys, or disavow any knowledge of the mission before the whole situation self-destructs.
