LOS ANGELES – The adult industry media was abuzz recently with Homegrown Video’s report that a third of the amateur porn submitted to HomegrownVideo.com comes from the Bible Belt. The news, based on a six-month study of submissions, set everyone to pondering. How did people in Middle America have time to shoot amateur porn, given the assumption all of them were busy attending church or planting corn?

Never ones to leave a perfectly odd revelation unexplored, YNOT.com tracked down Homegrown Video President Farrell Timlake for the lowdown on the Bible Belt’s fascination with the down-low.

YNOT: The Bible Belt is a hotbed of amateur porn production?

Farrell Timlake: The Bible Belt is great for amateur porn. Homegrown Video gets some of its best stuff from the most conservative states.

Why?

I think they must be trying to sin twice as hard, because then the redemption comes twice as sweet … or something.

Honestly, I think when people feel claustrophobic about their morality and social mores due to religious and moral high-mindedness, they tend to react in various ways. Making amateur porn is one of the best outlets for that sort of stress.

What kind of amateur content do Bible Belters send?

We tend to get a lot of interracial and cuckold [material] from the Bible Belt.

Yes, it does.

Your research indicated 56.9 percent of all amateur porn submissions to Homegrown came from women. What else surprised you?

Besides women being the instigators in making amateur porn, we are seeing a trend toward kinkier homemade porn with more fetish play incorporated into the fun.

How is the future of amateur porn looking, based on what people are sending you?

Amateur porn will always have a future as long as it maintains its heart and soul. The moment it becomes soulless and has no heart and looks too pro, then it becomes obsolete.

It isn’t so much about what people are doing, as how they are doing it.
