Last year in April, SpankChain announced that they would be partnering with PASS on a Mycoplasma Genitalium (Mgen) Awareness Initiative and would be offering free testing for up to 1,000 performers in Las Vegas. The pilot program was kicked off with hopes to “start a conversation about sexual wellness and encourage healthy habits.”
“Mgen is an STI that was first identified in 1980. The lack of awareness around this little-known bacterium may be accounted for by the fact that it only affects 1-3% of the population, the symptoms are often confused with UTIs, and some infections are asymptomatic,” a rep explained. “However, Mgen can have notable consequences, including urethritis in men and cervicitis in women. It is also increasingly resistant to antibiotics and takes weeks, sometimes months, to cure.”
Continuing their vision of helping the adult industry stop the spread of the STI, SpankChain along with PASS has once again committed to offering Free Mgen Testing in 2023.
