If you’ve been following the reality series Webdreams either on-air or online at www.showcase.ca/webdreams, you know the name Solaya. She is the sultry Asian t-girl seen on the show and on her own site at www.solayacam.com. YNOT.com caught up with Solaya recently and asked this budding starlet some probing questions:YNOT: When did you realize that you were transsexual?

Solaya: My desire to be a woman or transsexual started many years ago. Most of my childhood friends would say that I was always highly effeminate and took to the company of females.

The fact that I come from a different part of the world that accepts transsexuals made it easy for me to embrace what would become my destiny. In Thailand, transsexuals are almost admired and much sought after. I haven’t experienced this phenomenon in any other location in the world, and boy, I’ve been around!

Like many boys/men seeking to make the change, I used to play dress up with a lot of my mother’s and sister’s clothes. I didn’t have to hide or be ashamed that I borrowed their dresses. It was just a part of who I was, and still am, and they accepted me. Never did any of my family members try to change my habits. I was lucky!

YNOT: When did you transition, and what was the process like for you?

Solaya: I’ve never had a strong conviction such as when I decided to make the switch. I knew what was involved but I also knew that I had a burning desire in me that needed to be manifested.

Initially, the process was slow. I did a lot of research and did not jump the gun. After all, I was going to submit my mind, body, and soul to a life-altering experience and knew there was no going back. Safe to say I am a pre-op and still have a cock; but even then I knew that my physique would go through some major changes.

Thankfully, I was able to meet with many doctors. I also networked with others who have been through the transformation and I relied on their input for assistance and guidance. I think this is very important, as you tend to be confused and scared.

I was financially stable so I was able to afford great care from experienced professionals. I had no problem with traveling for a consultation for a procedure. I consider myself a classy individual and I wanted that to be reflected in the way I appear, both inward and outward.

YNOT: When did you get into the adult industry?

Solaya: Well, a few years ago I started with simple photo shoots but nothing too hardcore. Later on, I had the pleasure of meeting Diesel J from www.DieselWebDesign.com and he suggested that I consider getting into the adult entertainment industry. He never pressured me into getting into the hardcore aspect of the industry. Instead, he built a simple webcam site for me that had me doing solo performances. I am comfortable with type of set-up, and it allowed me to gain a lot of exposure.

I did notice a significant boost in business (I am an escort service provider). All of a sudden I was a porn star (she laughs) and EVERYONE was looking to book me! Since then, I am happy to continue working on my webcam site www.SolayaCam.com and often entertain with special guests for duos and threesomes. It gets pretty wild at times.

YNOT: How did you get involved with Webdreams?

Solaya: I got involved with Webdreams after Diesel J (www.DieselLive.com ) was featured on the TV show. He was already filming content for the show and asked me if I wanted to be on it as well. Of course, I’m a sucker for attention and so I tagged along. It was a great experience and I still get a kick out of people recognizing me when I’m on the street.

YNOT: Tell us what it was like, being filmed for the show.

Solaya: Well, the thing with being in a reality TV show is that you must shoot a TON of content that is summarized into a 44 minute show. It was fun at first but then tiring as months went by.

It’s tough. We shot for a number of months and went through a lot of ups and downs. What you see on television is just a fraction of what was filmed. I now realize how difficult it is for people in front of the camera to keep up the energy. Being on TV can be time-consuming.

YNOT: What was good about the experience, and what was bad?

Solaya: Webdreams could be seen as an opportunity to get some exposure. But it’s important to remember that I was already well-established within my community prior to getting involved. The TV spot might have helped me in certain ways.

As for the negative aspect of it all, I would have to comment on the creative editing. At times, the production team could easily manipulate a story line any which way they choose. Media agencies
do this all the time. You must be prepared for those events.

YNOT: What has Webdreams done for your career?

Solaya: Honestly, Webdreams hasn’t done a thing for me. I’m still the same sexy Solaya from SolayaCam.com and I will always be me. Career-wise, every now and then, people recognize and stop me on the street but that’s about it.

YNOT: What are you working on now, and what are your career plans?

Solaya: Well, I have been blessed with a great financial “do it yourself” attitude. I am currently working on securing my future. This might not be the typical answer coming from an adult entertainer, but I think it is important. Many of us working in the industry come across fast money and unfortunately several of us can blow through it rapidly. I’ve seen this on many occasions.

I am looking into attaining investments that should carry me for quite some time. A career in this industry can end at any given time.

YNOT: What is your life like, professionally and personally?

Solaya: I am at the top of my game in Canada. Many might think I’m being too over-confident but I’ve seen others come and go in this industry. I maintain a professional attitude at all times and avoid anything that would damage my reputation. After all, what else do I have?

It’s important to for me to always look like a million dollars. I may be the kindest person one will ever meet, but business is business and I do not like to mix pleasure with it. I offer a unique experience when someone spends any attention on me, whether it be from my www.SolayaCam.com website or my escorting duties.

My members and clients know the real me — caring, attentive and playful. I’ve often guided other TSes in this business and consult them from time to time. I believe in helping others so that they may benefit and stay clear of trouble. This industry is full of sharks and I do my best to sail the waters steadily. Personality-wise, I’m the sweetest TS ever. You can see for yourself on my TV show, Webdreams season 2 (she smiles).

YNOT: Do you intend to stay pre-op, or go the SRS (sex reassignment surgery) route to its completion? If you are opting for SRS, do you have any concerns about losing your male genitals?

Solaya: I often speak to my TS friends about that. I’ve reached a point where I am perfectly pleased with myself. No longer am I searching for something or the right operation! I’m content with my physique, appearance, demeanor and lifestyle. People know who and what I am: Solaya.

Put it this way, being a pre-op give me the best of both worlds. I have considered going all the way but I’ve realized that there is nothing wrong with a female having a cock. So what if a pre-op doesn’t fit in a particular category? Who made these rules up anyway?

Times are changing and I’ve always done what I wanted. I do have some concerns about losing my male genitals, therefore what’s the point of me even going there?

I truly enjoy having a cock. If I didn’t have one, my orgasms would be different and that I cherish way too much! Besides, from a business point of view, my clients and members looooove my body and my male genitals. I think I can hang with the most hung of the lot! (She laughs).

YNOT: A final question: Are you having fun?

Solaya: Everyday I wake up and say to myself, “I’ve done very well.” I’m an immigrant and managed to build a tremendous empire for myself. I’m very successful and can sit back and say that it was hard work but well worth it. I have no regrets and keep looking forward. Also, I support my family as well as others that need it, so I think in the end I am contributing to society as a whole.

I’m very easy-going and rest assured that you will always find a smile on my face!
