EUROPE – Ah, fall — the season when couch potatoes everywhere glue themselves to comfy chairs, turn on their TVs…and exist on chips, cardboard pizza and beer until their favorite sports teams leave the field in February.

The Amsterdam and Prague matches are the second and third such events organized by Epoch this year. The first took place during Qwebec Expo in August. Harmik G., Epoch’s head of sales and chief futbol engineer, declined to gloat (mostly), but did say that based on the popularity of the Montreal match, Epoch’s Soccer Madness may become an annual series.

The competition is all in the spirit of fun, he added, noting that the fans had as much fun in Montreal as the players themselves — though the fans didn’t sweat anywhere near as much.
Harmik also said Soccer Madness — inexplicably named using the American term for a sport called futbol or football everywhere else — is one way for Epoch to say “thank you” for the industry’s support.
