YNOT – Actor, director, writer and producer Sylvester Stallone may well want to forget his first starring role, but if Pink Visual has its way, Stallone’s performance in the 1970 softcore porn classic The Italian Stallion may prove as immortal as his portrayal of fictional boxer Rocky Balboa.

Originally titled The Party at Kitty and Stud’s, the low-budget movie features a young Stallone as the titular Stud in what was his first leading role as an actor. Reportedly, he was paid $200 to play the sex-obsessed lothario. Light on plot and character development, the movie tracks the sexual adventures of Kitty and Stud through several vignettes, culminating in an orgy at their apartment during which Stud endeavors to service each female guest.

Italian Stallion’s debut at PVLocker.com coincides with Friday’s mainstream debut of Stallone’s latest action flick, The Expandables 2. The mainstream movie is an eagerly anticipated sequel to the similarly named 2010 film about a band of mercenaries. The film’s cast list reads like a virtual who’s who of cinematic action heroes: Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The adult film “isn’t exactly The Usual Suspects when it comes to twists, turns or clever dialogue, but it’s a piece of cinematic history — and a timely bit of nostalgia, given the release of The Expendables 2,” said Liam Colins, director of business development for Pink Visual. “I suspect a lot of people will check it out just for the novelty factor. It’s not every day you get to see a major Hollywood star in a context like this.”

Stud Management owns the distribution rights to The Italian Stallion.

“What’s old is indeed new again,” a representative for the distributor said. “Sly’s pornographic experience offers a timeless depiction of the male physique, celebrity or otherwise, for the enjoyment of male and female consumers alike. As leaders in both desktop and mobile web content delivery, PVLocker represented a natural fit for us in bringing this classic film to market for the digital consumer.”

The Italian Stallion marks PVLocker’s first foray into classic porn, but Colins said it probably will not be the last.

“Classic porn is a fantastic niche market, and it’s one that we really haven’t explored before,” he said. “We believe there’s a real opportunity to get these films out to a whole new market of consumers, and the pairing of very old-school porn with the very new-school technology of PVLocker is going to be a compelling mix.”
