The Handy! The people behind the new interactive stroker from Scandinavia have asked me to review their product and considering I’ll try just about anything… twice, I happily obliged.
Considering that there are quite a few sex toy offerings out there running the gamut of pricing, functionality and technology for those with a penis, it’s always nice to not only find a great product that works well, but also one that allows you to switch it up. The Handy can be used solo or interactive and is an interesting device that takes the tried and true method of known masturbation devices and kicks it up a few notches.
I’ll review this product on 10 points that I think should be taken into consideration with the purchase of any sex toy. Some are more important than others but all are relevant and will hopefully educate the reader enough when making a buying decision.
Customer service – When buying anything online, (or in my case, a free delivery) you always want to get a feeling that you aren’t getting ripped off and that communication is solid. My experience dealing with reps at The Handy was stellar from start to finish. 10/10
Price point – The Handy retails for starting at $169 and has upgrades from $9 – $29. More details can be found here. Considering this product is much more than a simple masturbation device, this pricing is very fair. 10/10
Practicality – Considering that while yes, many of us just want to get off and spend as little prep time doing it, sex toys that require a plug in and maintenance aren’t everyone’s preference. The Handy does require being plugged in and considering it’s a hands-free stroker, the user still needs to hold the base and while it’s not bulky, it isn’t optimal either. But this comes with the territory of any sex toy that does the work for you. As far as sextoys go of this calibre, it’s still on the right side of practicality. 8/10
Ease of Use – After reading the simple directions and learning how you can control the stroke length and speed with The Handy, there is somewhat of a learning curve and you have to be fully erect the entire time in order for it to work properly. I recommend keeping the strokes short and slow when getting started and be sure to use a lot of lube. They also offer sales of lube with The Handy. It’s going to take getting used to, but as with anything, practice makes perfect. 8/10
Features – While only using it solo, there are two things to note here about the features of The Handy. You can switch out the masturbation sleeves, the tightness of the band, the speed and length of the strokes and you can even time it all while watching your favorite adult content. You can even have someone control it remotely. This is all fascinating stuff, and a major reason why anyone would want a hands free adult toy. 10/10
Pleasure – This is obviously one of the most important features of any sex toy… how much pleasure does it actually bring you? Do you think about it in anticipation? Are there risks of injury or any weird feels that happen due to misuse of The Handy? Considering you can control everything while using it solo, while not perfect, The Handy does deliver in this area. 9/10
Storage – The Handy isn’t a product you want to leave around if you have kids or pets or anything that might cause you embarrassment or damage to the product. It’s about the size of a water bottle and weighs a couple pounds and really doesn’t take up much space. The packaging allows for easy storage. 10/10
Clean up – One of the worst functions of any sex toy is the dreaded clean up. Not only because we’re civilized and hey, leaving something potentially a biohazard around the house isn’t the best idea, but you have an investment that you want to have operate at 100% every time for months, if not longer, to come. Literally and figuratively. Fortunately, The Handy is easy. Cream pie the sleeve, shut the device off, undo the strap holding it in place, turn it inside out and it takes you under a minute to clean that and anything you got on the device itself. Dry it off and Bob’s your uncle. Or in my case, I have a cousin named Bob. 9/10
Technology – So for this feature of The Handy there are also three things at play. The functionality of the device itself as a hands-free stroker, the ability to synch the product up with a video you are watching and the ability to enjoy The Handy while someone controls it remotely. If you are the type looking beyond the experience of just putting your dick in something and looking more for an experience that you can enjoy with your favorite cam or clips performers, then The Handy is definitely the way to go. 10/10
Reusability – What makes any sex toy worth the purchase? Is it something you are going to be using again and again and again. I think the answer is simple here with The Handy. Yes. You will want to use it over and over and try different things. You won’t use it every time the urge hits, but this is definitely not a one and done toy. 10/10
So while some of these categories should be weighted more than others, my calculations put The Handy at 94/100. And to me, that’s an A in my book. Get The Handy.
