Resident Evil Requiem launched today across multiple gaming platforms including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW. The game is set 30 years after the Raccoon City Incident and features two protagonists: newcomer Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst, and returning character Leon S. Kennedy.
The storyline follows Ashcroft as she investigates mysterious deaths in the same location where her mother was murdered eight years earlier. When a police officer goes missing at the hotel, DSO agent Kennedy is dispatched to the scene, leading both characters to confront their pasts and uncover the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident.
The game is available in Standard and Deluxe editions, with the Deluxe version including five exclusive costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms and additional content. A Premium Steelbook Edition features the full game, Deluxe Edition contents, and a limited-edition lenticular card.
Players can select from multiple difficulty levels, including Casual mode with aim assist and more forgiving health mechanics, or Standard mode which requires Ink Ribbons for saving progress. The launch coincides with several merchandise releases, including a special edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller featuring game designs in gunmetal-inspired black.
Additional tie-ins include the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo figures of Grace and Leon, scheduled for release July 30, 2026. Collaborations with Porsche and Hamilton watches offer themed products, with the watch company producing 2,000 limited-edition timepieces replicating those worn by the in-game characters.
To mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary, orchestral performances titled “Resident Evil Symphony of Legacy” are planned across Japan, North America and Europe later this year. Nintendo Switch 2 users can also access newly released ports of Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, available individually or as part of the Resident Evil Generation Pack bundle.
