YNOT – Bare Bowling, a nearly-naked benefit for Protecting Adult Welfare, drew stars galore to a retro bowling alley in Montrose, Calif., on Sunday. Organized by Dave Michaels of Scorching Images and Bill Margold, the event is an annual fundraiser.
Adult Industry veteran Margold founded PAW, a charitable foundation, with the goal of improving the quality of life for adult entertainment workers. The foundation serves performers, directors, writers, retail clerks, warehouse personnel and others. PAW offers a peer counseling program and financial support for industry members who need help. PAW also works to educate the mainstream about the adult industry.
The three-hour 2012 Bare Bowling event attracted up-and-coming starlets including Alex Chance, Presley Hart, Ana Foxxx, Lily Evans and Caprice Capone, along with veteran performers Amber Lynn, Max Hardcore, Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Tommy Gunn and Elizabeth Starr. Steve Nelson from AI News, writer Tod Hunter and man-about-porn Powder also attended.
The miniature bowling alley was packed to capacity with porn stars and civilians bowling together. Some of the ladies got very little time in the lanes because so many people wanted photos with their favorite performers. A slew of paparazzi covered the event, engaging in guerilla photography and interviews.
Everyone with extra cash could buy raffle tickets for a chance to win DVDs, copies of Girls & Corpses magazine signed by Tera Patrick and the grand prize: a trip courtesy of Porn Film Vacations. Vivid Entertainment, Wicked Pictures, Hustler Video and Excitement Video sponsored the event, which was promoted by Pipeline Multimedia and The Rub PR.
Margold said he was pleased with the turnout this year — so pleased, in fact, that he plans addition Bare Bowling events in 2013. The first is expected to take place in January during the 2013 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. A second is under consideration for Memorial Day. The traditional outing will return during Labor Day weekend.
