MENLO PARK, Calif. – Saying the company “understands the industry’s need to protect the community by ensuring the identity and authenticity of the samples they test for PASS certification,” ProDx Health has announced the launch of its new “Assured MoFi ID Program.”
“ProDx Health has a standing principle of its process, ‘trust but verify,’ but realized a higher standard was needed,” the company said in announcing the new program. “So, they launched the new Assured MoFi ID Program as the new standard for all of its PASS-certified Pro13 testing.”
According to the announcement, there are “three key steps for Assured MoFi User/Sample Authentication.”
“The first is a government-issued document and identity verification process conducted through a leading independent identity verification agency,” the company explained in the announcement. “The client uploads their license, passport, or other official document to the portal when they sign up for their televisit. During the televisit, ProDx obtains a picture of the client and matches it to the ID. The ID is then stored for future checks.
“During the televisit, the ProDx team member explains the kit and answers any other questions,” ProDx added. “The second step is for the client to collect oral swabs and blood samples, which are required for PASS and MoFi certification. With ProDx tele-supervision, the client collects the oral swab sample and seals it in its bag using a uniquely coded, tamper-proof security seal, which links the person’s authenticated identity to a unique personal molecular pattern – their MoFi ID. ProDx observes the client performing their blood collection and oral swab live during the visit to ensure the molecular fingerprint is now tied to the authenticated person. Once a MoFi ID is established, no televisit is required for all subsequent Pro13 tests. All the client needs to do is send in their samples because their molecular profile can be checked each time. Documents and sample-authenticated profiles are authenticated and linked from the first visit.”
ProDx added that in the lab, “the Pro13 Molecular Fingerprint (MoFi) is a scientific tool designed to ensure the authenticity of all the clients’ samples in a kit.”
“It verifies that your samples came from you every time,” ProDx added, “MoFi was built to protect the client, their partners, and the industry by verifying that all submitted specimens from an individual match their identity within a kit and over time. Each submitted sample contains a small number of human cells and client DNA. It’s this step, which involves initial spot checks and ongoing monitoring over time, that ensures client authenticity and security. MoFi evaluates a small panel of unique genetic markers to test this DNA and confidently establish that the samples came from the right person.”
