ProDx Health Adds Dr. Charlotte Gaydos to Advisory Board
MENLO PARK, Calif. – ProDx Health has announced the addition of a new member to the company’s Advisory Board: Dr. Charlotte Gaydos, who the company said brings with her “a wealth of knowledge and experience.”
“As Professor Emerita of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Charlotte Gaydos, the former Director of the Center for Point of Care (POC) STI Tests and past world president of IUSTI, has conducted multiple FDA clinical trials for STI diagnostics and developed DNA amplification tests for STIs,” ProDx Health explained in the announcement. “She has published over 600 manuscripts and 31 book chapters and holds an MPH and DrPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. “
According to ProDx Health, the company’s advisory board “meets monthly to provide scientific, industry, and community guidance around testing, outreach, and community needs.”
“We’re honored that Dr. Charlotte Gaydos has agreed to join our advisory board,” said Dr. K., Founder and CEO of ProDx Health. “Her work at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is monumental as director of a leading academic lab with a focus on STIs and respiratory infections. We welcome her brilliant, new insight, knowledge, and experience to the Advisory Board.”
The addition of Dr. Gaydos to the company’s advisory board is the latest in a series of moves the company has made this summer. Last month, ProDx announced the release of the “Alpha Male Home Collection Kit,” which tests levels of testosterone, cortisol, estradiol, DHEA, PSA, TSH, SHBG and Free Androgen Index. In July, the company released the “Trust 1 Home Collection Kit,” an HPV home-test kit for women.
“Both industry and civilians will benefit from the new Trust 1 Home Collection Kit,” ProDx said in the announcement. “Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common STD in the world, with some strains linked to cervical, anal, and other types of cancer. Since it’s asymptomatic, most people don’t even know they have it, and people can spread the virus unknowingly. There’s no cure, but screening and testing, along with early detection, help protect your health, as well as follow-up care. The Trust 1 Home Collection Kit detects up to 15 strains of HPV DNA in women with cervixes.”
