INDIA — Even as the nation’s infamously corrupt court system wrestles with the possible obscenity implications of a televised Shilpa Shetty/Richard Gere smooch its male citizens prepare to slip their soft brown skin into a little Playboy.Playboy under shorts, that is.
Already available in 133 countries, Playboy Men’s Underwear has made its appearance in India, thanks to local license holder SR Mill.
Directed at city dwelling Indian men between the ages of 15 and 35, the chic shorts can be found at more than 200 retail outlets in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbia, Rajkot, Surat, and Vishakapatnam, with more shops in other areas expected to carry the brand soon.
Part of what makes the introduction of Playboy bikini briefs, t-briefs, classic briefs, boxers, and mini boxer briefs is the fact that its more daring garments are now available within the country. In fact, Playboy thongs are the only brand of thongs available to men in India and India News reports that they sell well. In order to keep the look of its underwear fresh and encourage repeat sales, the company changes its signature print each season and offers bikini briefs with clever captions printed on the fanny.
With 15 underwear styles already available and another 10 being produced, the company plans to expand into socks soon.
