Pineapple Support to Host Support Group on Suicidal Ideation
Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced it is launching a free online support group “to help performers navigate thoughts of suicide.”
Sponsored by Stripchat, the six-week support group “Navigating Thoughts of Suicide” will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Rachael Farina and will begin on Thursday, September 4 at 10am EST.
“This group will provide a safe, compassionate space for anyone who has experienced suicidal ideation or struggles with ongoing thoughts of suicide,” Farina said. “Together, we will explore what contributes to these feelings, how to seek support, and the journey toward developing lasting hope. You are not alone, and healing is possible.”
Founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018 after a tragic series of losses within the adult industry community stemming from depression and other mental health struggles, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. To date, the organization reports that it has “connected over 16,000 adult performers to free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.”
“Suicidal thoughts can be isolating and frightening, but support groups like this one remind us that connection and healing are always within reach,” Tanit said. “I’m deeply thankful to Stripchat for sponsoring this vital group, and to Rachael for guiding participants with compassion and care.”
According to the announcement, each session in the six-week “Navigating Thoughts of Suicide” support group will run for approximately one hour, with the first session coming this Thursday, September 4, starting at 10am EST (7am PST / 4pm CET).
