Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced the launch of “Wellbeing by PS,” described as a “new corporate wellbeing service designed to help companies and agencies provide flexible, on-demand mental health support for their teams.”
According to the launch announcement, the new website “allows businesses operating in high-risk industries to purchase pay-as-you-go wellbeing services for their workforce.”
“Wellbeing by PS allows companies to pre-purchase 30-minute wellbeing check-ins, 50-minute therapy sessions, or facilitated support groups, providing access to mental health support without fixed annual contracts,” the launch announcement explained. “Services are delivered anonymously and supported by Pineapple Support’s network of more than 600 registered mental health professionals, with all proceeds reinvested into the organization’s nonprofit mental health services.”
“Companies want to support their teams, but many existing wellbeing models are not always accessible or financially practical,” said Leya Tanit, founder and CEO of Pineapple Support. “Wellbeing by PS provides a way for businesses to offer meaningful mental health support without long-term contracts, while also directly contributing to the sustainability of mental health services within the industry.”
Launched in 2018 following a string of losses within the adult industry stemming from depression and other mental illnesses, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States. To date, the organization reports that it has “connected over 19,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.”
Pineapple Support recently reported that in collaboration with Falcon/Naked Sword, the organization raised more than $50,000 to support mental health services for adult performers and industry professionals. The money was raised through Pineapple’s “Mx. Pineapple Cabaret” held in Palm Springs, as well as through a campaign in support of Men’s Mental Health Month in November.
