Established to de-mystify the BDSM lifestyle both for the public and the adult industry, XRUniversity.com invites people new to the lifestyle, as well as those looking to expand their reach within, to watch exclusive videos featuring how-tos, tips and details about how to use some of eXtreme Restraints’ intricate and sometimes intimidating products.
“XR University is for anyone looking to learn something new or augment their existing knowledge with tips, tricks and details about changing technologies and evolving sexual trends within the lifestyle and beyond,” eXtreme Restraints Marketing Manager John Turi said. “Consumers can find the valuable information they need to embark on new sexual territory, while retailers can learn new ways to appeal to what, for some, might be a hard-to-reach shopper demographic.”
The guiding principle is to encourage comfortable exploration, and to that end XR University provides exclusive videos of products in use. Safety is a crucial aspect of the instructional videos, which feature real fetish acts and sensory play. Viewers receive in-depth insight into pain-pleasure thresholds and discover how to incorporate sensory accessories such as those from the Zeus Electrosex line of electro-stimulation toys and wands.
Ian Rath, an expert in bondage, submission and domination who serves as eXtreme Restraints’ video marketing director, produced each video, drawing on years of experience and the workshops he teaches.
“We wanted our customers, especially the ones that are new to the lifestyle, to have a place where they can go and get their questions answered and watch videos on basic techniques from real experts who have years of experience,” Rath said. “Our goal is to offer a website that is educational, tastefully produced and well-designed.
“As XR University grows and evolves, the site will become the place online for beginners and advanced people to learn and enjoy their unique relationships even more,” he added.
In addition to videos, the site offers articles written by professional subs and doms who have been part of the scene for years. Product reviews not only help consumers decide which items might be most appropriate for them, but also provide information about using the products properly.
XR University may be of particular value to members of Extreme Restraints’ affiliate program. The program pays 10-20 percent revenue share, plus a 5-percent override on the commissions earned by referred webmasters.
