OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Former Creek County District Judge Donald Thompson has presided over many an important case during his time on the bench. Unfortunately for the 61-year-old ex-jurist, his most famous decision was an exceptionally bad one: using a penis pump while presiding over a case. Thompson was convicted of four counts of indecent exposure in June of 2006 and served 20 months of a four year prison sentence, in addition to registering as a sex offender.

Suspended from the bar association in 2006, his total alienation from his former profession was made official this week, when the Oklahoma Supreme Court formally disbarred him.

Justice John Reif penned the court’s opinion, pointing out that although felony convictions have sometimes met with less serve discipline, “the nature of the crimes in this matter led this Court to conclude that nothing less than disbarment is appropriate. The conduct was not isolated, having occurred over a fairly lengthy period of time and on four separate occasions.”

Thompson, who insisted during his trial that the pump was a gag gift from a hunting buddy that had never actually been used in the courtroom, is said to have not responded to disbarment hearings requests from the Supreme Court. Clark Brewster, his attorney, says that Thompson never considered practicing law after the accusations were made and he resigned in his 2004.
