CYBERSPACE – NakedTruth.ca, the cheeky, upbeat site run for exotic dancers by former dancer Annie Temple, has announced its first-ever “People’s Choice Awards” with nominations being offered by site members. Anyone can join, and joining is free of cost.“This initiative will encourage industry members and associates to recognize our favorite aspects of the industry,” says a company comment at NakedTruth.ca. “We have lots to be proud of. Let’s celebrate what we love about adult entertainment around the world.”

Here’s the process:

1. Put the category you’re nominating for in your subject line.
2. Write a paragraph (max. 500 words) explaining why your nominee should win.
3. Email it to annie@nakedtruth.ca.
4. Your paragraph will be posted on NakedTruth.ca to help others decide who to vote for in that category. Your name will not be included with the paragraph.
5. Deadline for nominations is November 15, 2009.

Why is NakedTruth.ca launching the People’s Choice Awards?

“I decided to hold these awards because I wanted to celebrate the best of the industry and encourage others to do the same,” says Annie Temple. “This industry gets a really bad rap. But how often do we get to show off the good stuff? Not very often. So this is an opportunity to highlight the really ethical, talented, etc in the adult entertainment industry.”

To say the least, the categories for the Naked Truth People’s Awards are wide open.

“Beyond what some might expect to be industry categories, such as ‘Favorite Striptease Artist,’ we also tread into the taboo with ‘Favorite Outcall Location’ and ‘Favorite Dungeon,’” says Temple. “We also include Favorite Client’ categories and ‘Favorite Advocate’ categories. We are also trying to be very gender friendly and were sure to include a ‘Favorite Pussy Squirting Scene’ in the Adult Films section.”

“If we are missing any categories, members are encouraged to suggest a few,” she adds. “To make sure this doesn’t turn into a pissing contest, I’m editing and posting the nominations myself. I want the entire thing to be positive and a benefit to our industry.”

Winners of the first Naked Truth People’s Choice Awards will win trophies, to be presented to them at an awards ceremony in Vancouver, BC, Canada early in 2010.

“Those who can’t make it will receive their trophies by mail,” Temple notes. “Winners will also be listed on NakedTruth.ca for all time, so everyone can see who ‘past winners’ are, as we will hold the awards every year.”
