MyWifeBucks.com Facing More Anti-Porn Controversy in Ottawa

OTTAWA, CANADA – The saga of Jim and Jenn Deans’ battle with neighbors and “community activists” has taken another turn, and the couple finds themselves reworking plans for an upcoming webmaster event. The Deans, owners of mywifebucks.com, have spent their summer butting heads with neighbors and community groups after one of their neighbors discovered that the couple was running several adult sites from their Ottawa home. Since that time, the couple been pressured to relocate in a variety of ways, including having their home vandalized, and having several small rallies held against them.

The Deans’ organized “The Capital Bash,” an upscale webmaster event slated for Nov 26 in the same city they say has tried to out them from the community. Just when all seemed to be coming off without a hitch, the club where the event was to be held suddenly told the Deans the club no longer wished to be associated with the event, as it did not want to have its good name associated with the adult industry.

Jim Deans says he was taken by surprise by the club’s reversal, as the company was very up front with the owners of the club about the nature of the event from the beginning. Dean said he assumes the same groups that caused problems for he and his wife all this summer may be behind the club’s decision.

“This self-appointed moral majority will stop at nothing to keep adult material from being produced in Ottawa,” Dean said, “all the while probably surfing it themselves.”

Something of a silver lining has emerged for the Deans in all this, however; another club owner who heard of the Capital Bash has offered his club as a venue, and the Deans have picked up sponsorship support from Carol Cox (www.carolcox.com) and the Qwebec Expo (www.qwebecexpo.com).
