YNOT – According to research firm IDC, 50 percent of the total population of the U.S. now uses smartphones capable of viewing online video. In addition, tablet computing is growing at an atonishing rate. The two facts combined mean webmasters who don’t offer their users mobilized video are failing to serve an ever-larger portion of their customer base, said the founder of one adult affiliate program.

“Videos are being watched more and more on mobile devices and less on standard computers,” PlatinumBucks founder Platinum Dave said. “Up to 40 percent of all videos viewed are on mobile devices, and that trend is increasing rapidly.”

To meet the demand, the program’s video-on-demand branch, Adult Rental, has completed an upgrade to make its system fully functional across all mobile smartphones and operating systems, including Apple’s iOS, Android and BlackBerry.

“Getting Adult Rental mobile-ready was no easy task, [because we had to mirror] all the features, navigation and quality our customers are used to from a web version into a mobile-friendly version. That took a bit of brainstorming,” Dave said. “We feel we have created the ultimate mobile porn site, with all the features and no compromise.”

Among the features of which Dave is most proud are systems that track viewer favorites and produce ranked lists: top movies, top performers and top categories, for example. The mobile system also supports complete bio pages for the 10,000 performers in the main website’s database in addition to offering more than 73,000 feature-length DVDS.

“And the collection is growing at 100 new movies per week,” Dave said.

Consumers who log on to the main website automatically are routed to the mobile version.

PlatinumBucks affiliates receive $35 per new member referred to either version of the site.
