YNOT – Adult entertainment umbrella corporation Manwin has purchased controversial tube site YouPorn.com from Curacao-based Midstream Media International N.V. The deal, which also included YouPornGay.com and YouPornCocks.com, was finalized May 5 for an undisclosed sum.

Launched in 2006, YouPorn is ranked 81st internationally by traffic monitor Alexa; the site ranks 91st in the U.S. According to a Manwin statement, YouPorn caters to a variety of tastes and niches, with videos divided into 61 categories. It joins other properties including Brazzers.com and other adult tube sites in the Manwin portfolio.

YouPorn will maintain previously established business partner relationships under the new ownership, the Manwin statement indicated.

“We feel it is a complimentary acquisition to our network of sites,” Manwin Managing Partner Fabian Thylmann said. “YouPorn is a pioneer site that has a strong and loyal following. We intend to grow the site in the spirit it was created in and the diligence it was maintained with.”

He added the Manwin team intends to “focus on the user experience” going forward.

In the past, the site has not been without its share of detractors. In December, two California men launched a class-action lawsuit against YouPorn and its then-parent company over an invasive, covert practice known as “history sniffing,” in which websites employ code snippets to detect where a visitor has been on the web. A similar suit also was filed in Quebec. The status of the lawsuits is unknown.

Manwin‘s corporate headquarters are in Luxembourg, although its base of operations is located in Canada. The company also maintains offices in Cyprus and Germany.
